Personal Information
Troy Dorchester is one of the most competitive and personable drivers with one of the most famous last names in professional chuckwagon racing. He was the WPCA's Top Rookie Driver in 1993, and has won 3 career show championships including the WPCA Pro Tour Championship, the Grande Prairie Stompede, and the Strathmore Heritage Days Stampede. Troy has twice qualified for the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby's sudden death championship final heat in 1999 and 2000, and won the Calgary Stampede's Orville Strandquist Award for Top Rookie Driver in 1998. He has participated annually in EnCana’s WPCA/4-H Mentorship Program since 2006. In 2009 Troy posted 18 top ten runs including 5 runs that cracked the top five. He qualified for the sudden death championship final heat at Edmonton’s Chuckwagon Derby for the 2nd consecutive year and had top ten overall finishes at 5 show championships. Troy is a third generation chuckwagon driver whose grandfather was chuckwagon legend Tom Dorchester - a 4-time World and 2-time Calgary Stampede champion, his father Garry is a former World and Calgary Stampede Champion, and Uncle Dallas was a former World and 2-time Calgary Stampede Champion as well. Troy enjoys golf and hockey in his spare time. Troy and his wife Jennifer have two children - Haley and Connor, and make their home in Westerose, Alberta.
