Personal Information
Chance Flad is one of the up and coming star outriders. 2009 saw Chance win the Calgary Stampede Aggregate title and Badlands Dinosaur Derby outriding for Kelly Sutherland, and he received the Rod Glass Memorial Award for most improved outrider. Chance won the 2008 WPCA Top Rookie Outrider Award and captured his first career show championship in his rookie year at the Ponoka Stampede behind his number one call - Doug Irvine. Chance started his chuckwagon career as a barn hand working for driver Doug Irvine. He made his debut at the Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby in 2007 riding in the demonstration race, and picked up his first official ride for Doug Irvine on the final night of the 2007 Calgary Stampede. Chance is the great-nephew of former driver the late Herman Flad, and cousin to drivers Troy and Darcy Flad. He won the Calgary Stampede’s Wild Pony Race in 2005 and 2006. Chance enjoys hockey and hunting in the off season, is single and makes his home in Hughenden, Alberta.
