Personal Information
Hugh Sinclair has built one of the greatest careers in the history of chuckwagon racing. Hugh is a 4-time Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Champion, was the Calgary Stampede's Aggregate Champion in 2000, and won the 2008 WPCA Dodge Pro Tour Championship. 2009 saw Hugh posted 24 top ten runs, including 3 first place runs and 7 runs that cracked the top five. He won the Battle of the North for the 5th time in his career, and additional top ten overall finishes at Medicine Hat Stampede, North American Chuckwagon Championship and the Badlands Dinosaur Derby were his best of the year. Hugh outrode for two Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby Championship outfits and one Calgary Stampede Aggregate winner. He was the WPCA's Top Rookie Outrider in 1982, WPCA’s Most Improved Outrider in 1986, and received the WPCA's Most Improved Chuckwagon Outfit Award in 1998. Hugh had a horse named to the WPCA's Equine Outfit of Excellence in 2005 and holds 2 WPCA?track records. Hugh is a second-generation driver whose father Tom Sinclair was a top competitor throughout the 1970's. Hugh and his wife Carolyn make their home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He has a daughter Chandie, and enjoys all sports, especially hockey.
