Personal Information

Ryan McAleney is an outrider who added to his buckle collection in 2009. He won 2 show championships at the Ponoka Stampede outriding for Obrey Motowylo and the Bonnyville Chuckwagon Championship outriding for Brian Mayan. He placed in the top ten of the World Standings for the 3rd consecutive year. In 2007 he won the WPCA Top Rookie Outrider award and his 7th place in the World Standings is the 2nd highest placing by a rookie outrider in WPCA history. Under the guidance of Mike and Chanse Vigen, Ryan made his debut ride at the 2006 Calgary Stampede Rangeland Derby. A former bull rider and team roper, Ryan was the Team Roping season leader in high school rodeo, and went to the Wild Rose and Northern Rodeo Associations finals. A second generation chuckwagon competitor, Ryan's grandfathers are former chuckwagon drivers Larry Kennedy and Brian Lewis. In the off season Ryan helps his father Bruce train thoroughbreds and works as a plumber. He enjoys bull riding, team roping and hockey, and makes his home in Sexsmith, Alberta.
