The Horses

The breed of horses used in chuckwagon racing are Thoroughbreds, ranging in age from three years old, and in many cases, to over twenty years old, the majority of which have experience on the racetrack. Some horses have been known to run on a chuckwagon in excess of fifteen years before retiring to the pastures of home.
